Advisors

Mr. Bartlett

As the Advisor, Mr. Bartlett is the head of our group. He has been the advisor for the last 21 years. He is also on the state board of directors for SLS. He plans the fallcamp at MCYC every year, and helps fill in any gaps in planning for meetings and events. This

work is done primarily with the leaders of SLS as he expects those leaders to direct the other students and activities of the chapter. He often books his church for the group to use the building for lock-ins, our annual Be-You-ty Pageant, and other events. He also teaches World History here at Cousino in room 305 where you can visit him for information or advice.

Mr. Coates

Mr. Coates is the Co-Advisor of the organization and takes part in planning meetings and events with the group. He provides help and support whenever needed, and provides a large amount of aid in acquiring materials required for

meetings and events. He also supervises meetings and events to ensure that they always run smoothly and as planned.

Board Members

President: Dylan Shoupe

As the President, I head the organization and get the glorious job of overseeing all the board, to make sure that they keep focused and on track. I also maintain the connections among our Co-Advisors, board members, general members, and other communications that help our SLS

Chapter thrive. I am really looking forward to this year's school year, and I know it will be a great one!

Vice President: Paige Webb

As vice president, I take everything the president says and enforce it. I take any other jobs that are overflow from the president and that he/she wants me to take over. I also run meetings and events and help out wherever possible, volunteering my time to help lead the group.

Treasurer: Caitlin Polisuk-Balfour

As the Treasurer, I count our funds before and after events and keep track of our monetary gains and losses. I take a large part in planning the yearly budget and I cooperate with the Fundraising Director to ensure sufficient funds are always available. We

collaborate quite often to raise and manage funds to hold more fun and successful events.

Secretary: Kaitlin Bastian

As secretary, I am in charge of all paperwork for the group. I keep our filing cabinet organized with instructions on how to plan events, write thank-you letters to people and companies who volunteer their time and resources, and keep our meeting sign-in sheets organized. I also

take notes at meetings and keep copies of the minutes posted in the folder outside Mr. Bartlett's room for others to pick up if they miss a meeting.

Fundraising Director: Carlyn Misuaraca

As the fundraising director, it is my job to think of and run events that will fund our organization, as well as provide insight to the board necessary to run the group. I collaborate with the treasurer to raise and manage funds, especially to drop the admission

costs for members to attend our events or the annual State Conference in the fall. I will take ideas from others and hopefully make this year a great one!

Tech Manager: Jon Hunt

As the Tech Manager, I manage the website, Facebook page, e-mail, and Remind account for SLS. I am available quite often on our Facebook page to answer any questions members may have, and I send out frequent text reminders to the group whenever there is an important event coming up. I take

notes during meetings and distribute them online for the rest of the board members to refer to at any time. I help the board run meetings and plan events during the year, and help out whenever possible.

Art Director: Madison Crabtree

As the art director, I utilize the creativity and imagination of our members to better serve SLS. I make posters and decorations to advertise and get the word out about our organization and our meetings and events. I also compile the ideas of our members to design and order our apparel each year at fall camp.

Historian: Joshua Criger

As the historian, I keep events, meetings, and projects photographed on file to stay in the history of SLS for generations on. I create videos to be used in meetings, workshops, and events. I

also keep track of what SLS has done in the past, for future generations of students to refer back to, look at for pleasure, and to conserve memories.

Trustees: Choosen at SLS camp

As trustees, we are considered members of the board for the semester we are elected. We hold training positions to allow us to gain the knowledge and experience required to successfully hold a year-long board position. We follow in the footsteps of the other board members, paying attention to what positions require, so that when it comes time for elections, we can run for the position for the upcoming year and hold it successfully.
